Arcane returns with a thrilling two-track EP from up and coming UK based DJ & Producer Matt Guy. Following releases on solä & My Techno Weighs a Ton, Matt Guy steps up to deliver his most exciting release to date in the form of his debut release on Eli Brown's Bristol based imprint with 'Party Starter'.
The title track has been featured heavily in Eli Brown's sets since restrictions were lifted. It's been nothing short of a weapon for Brown with the Bristolian taking the roof off some of the biggest festivals and clubs in the world with the record, including Printworks, CRSSD Festival, EDC Orlando & many more. The track features a ravey organ melody that provides the backbone of the production. Old-school vocal slurs marry together with a heavy hitting kick drum to formulate a track which feels truly groundbreaking.
'Desires' makes up the B side. From the off, this production feels different to the A-side with a playful bass melody driving the track towards the introduction of a soulful vocal line. It's a very well crafted release from Matt to tie off a successful debut offering on Arcane.
Matt Guy is one of the breakthrough artists of 2022 (as nominated by Radio 1) having delivered one of the summer’s hottest track IDs. Finally released September 9th on Armada Music, ‘Set My Mind Free’ launched as Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune after gaining pre-release support from Pete and his Radio 1 colleague Sarah Story. Add to that, heavy club and festival rotation from DJs as diverse as Solomun to Gorgon City and ‘Set My Mind Free’ is up there as one of 2022’s most anticipated records. Since release the record has been added to KISS FM and Capital Dance playlists, received Tune of the Week on BBC Radio 1 and has surpassed one million streams. At club level the record now has the backing of heavy weights from across the scene, the likes of CamelPhat, Joseph Capritati, FISHER, Tiesto, Dom Dolla and Sam Divine. ‘Set My Mind Free’ came hot on the heels of 2022 releases ‘Party Starter’ and ‘Krupa’, both of which were both supported by DJs from all corners of dance music; from stalwarts of the UK underground scene Patrick Topping and Annie Mac to global mainstage names such as Diplo, Vintage Culture and Claptone.
